IELTS Life Skills is for people who need to prove their English speaking and listening skills at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels A1 or B1.
IELTS Life Skills Test is accepted by the UK Border Agency for any migrant applying to enter or remain in the UK, who as the husband, wife, civil partner or fiancé of a British citizen or a person settled there will need to show that they can speak and understand English.
IELTS Life Skills is available at two levels:
• IELTS Life Skills - A1 Speaking and Listening
• IELTS Life Skills - B1 Speaking and Listening

You will be expected to: • Listen and respond to spoken language, including simple narratives, statements, questions and single-step instructions • Communicate basic information, feelings and opinions on familiar topics • Talk with another person in a familiar situation about familiar topics.

PRESENTATIONS
The IELTS LIFE SKILLS students are provided with live video presentations of national and international programmes related to the IELTS LIFE SKILLS sub-test modules: Listening and Speaking.
ONLINE SELF-ACCESS RESOURCE CENTER
IELTS LIFE SKILLS Online Self-Access Resource Centre contains the latest materials for all modules in paper format as well as on computers from the in-house Online Resource Center. Students have access to all the materials for the four different modules Listening and Speaking. The Self-Access lab helps students become familiar with the variety of question types that appear on the actual test.

LIBRARY
ULCI Library offers students materials designed to help improve their language skills in speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The library contains the collection of test preparation sample tests and a wide range of course materials related to all of the courses taught at ULCI that would meet the study needs of students. Students may borrow books related to their registered courses.
MOCK TESTS
Full tests for the Listening and Speaking modules are conducted on alternate Sundays. In these practice tests, students are provided with individual headphones with volume controls. These tests are like the real tests, the results of which are displayed on the ULCI notice board.
